You Never Get a Second Chance to Make a First Impression

First impressions are crucial, and to be honest, you would never think that the entry way to your own home would need any designing. Right when you walk into a home, condo or apartment, what is the first thing you see? Whether it's photos of family, creative artwork or a cozy nook, you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

If the given home has the amount of space to create a cozy nook, that's the first impression I would want my guests to see. I have a very modern and eclectic style, so I love to incorporate that in my designs as much as I can.

Step one:

Find a showstopper! I am always on the hunt for the most amazing pieces to place in a home, and even my own. I want something that screams WOW to my guests right when they enter . I found this incredible Howard Miller floor clock at Steinhafels and this is has the perfect wow-factor that brings old Hollywood glam to your front room.

Step two:

Make it cozy. Find a classy accent chair and ottoman to dress up the space. Many think that a chair in the front entry is unnecessary, but I love when I have a chance to take a seat and take off my shoes after a long day of work. This certain piece is the Sarah Accent Chair from Steinhafels with a matching ottoman. This chair has tight seat and back cushions with slanted legs, which gives it a unique modern look.

Step Three:

One of the utmost important necessities of a front entry room is a table for keys, mail, sunglasses etc. I know the frustration of

walking into your home and not having anywhere to place everything that I'm holding in my hands! To mix up this style a bit, instead of searching for an ultra modern table, I would display the Rafferty Sofa Table from Steinhafels, which is a traditional table with a wood framed table top and nailhead trim around the sides. I love to mix up modern and traditional designs to add my own personal flare into the room. This table is 33" tall, which is the perfect height for dropping off your keys!

Step Four:

Add some flare! Adding bowls or trays on top of your table and a portrait above the table will tie this whole entryway together. Dress up your table with stylish Bronze Aluminum Deco Bowls for your keys and add this Abree Assorted Wall Art to your wall. Both of these accessories were found at Steinhafels, as well. I didn't want to add any art that had a distinct pattern on it because I still wanted the accent chair to hold the only loud pattern. This pair of accessories were a perfect match because of their winding aluminum features.
